WOLF
/wo͝olf/ –noun
- a wild carnivorous mammal of the dog family.
- used in similes and metaphors to refer to a rapacious, ferocious or voracious person or thing.
Rapacious, ferocious, voracious. All these words sound scary. Words you’d want to stay away from and yet, people still love wolves. But what happens when that wolf is inside your mind? Rapacious, ferocious, voracious and living inside of you. Wolves live inside of everyone. Some people’s wolves are more vengeful and some are more tame, but nothing is wrong with the wolves living inside of you.
My three wolves have been named by the doctors: Social Anxiety, OCD, and Eating Disorder. At first I denied their existence. They weren’t real. They weren’t mine. But now, I’ve realized that there’s nothing wrong with having wolves. It doesn’t make me worse or better as a human. I’ve welcomed them with open arms and have learned how to live with them and not against them.
I wanted to create this blog to just write about these wolves and hopefully show that they are completely normal and you are not the only person who has them. It took me a very long time to feel comfortable admitting that I had these problems, but now I enjoy talking about them with other people because I’ve found out that it’s not just me feeling this way. There’s comfort in numbers.
